Adolescent Therapy

Children Therapy, Adolesense

Adolescence is an overwhelming and stressful time in one’s life. Learning how to navigate in the outside world is essential for long-term satisfaction and happiness.

Adolescents often present with social anxiety and or academic anxiety. With the birth of social media, there is an inordinate amount of pressure being placed on Millennials. We are seeing an increase in depression, serious distress, anxiety, and suicidal ideation. It is critical to be aware of peer pressure and its powerful impact.

My job is to help the adolescent get familiar with who they are and who they want to become. Feeling a sense of security and trust, in a neutral, non- judgemental setting, is the only way to engage and help an adolescent talk and share openly. All adolescents strive to be liked, seen and accepted. They want to fit in and to have friends.

My work with teens comes from a developmental perspective and is also attachment-oriented in theory and in practice.
